Description:	An often dark and anguished musical depiction of Mary's feelings as she watches her son Jesus die on the cross. Deeply personal, Dvořák's setting of this famous poem was intimately bound up with the tragic loss of his own children, yet ends in hope, with a radiant vision of paradise in the final movement.
