Dear Friends,
Our new season has got off to an excellent start, with regular, uninterrupted rehearsals, five new singers joining us, and several 'old' faces rejoining after a period away from choir. Although we've come to appreciate the fragility of our plans over the last eighteen months, things do feel a little more settled. As you'll see from this newsletter, we have an exciting season to look forward to, and we hope to see you soon at one of our concerts. Tickets are now available for our autumn concert (see item 1 below) - buy yours now to avoid disappointment!

Looking forward to Christmas, we shall be involved in two concerts over the weekend of 18th/19th December!
Our ever-popular Carols for All will take place this year on Sunday 19th December, 5pm, at St Mary in the Castle. As usual, we shall be accompanied by the rich sound of a brass quintet - this year, it will be Cromwell Brass - and joined by a local primary school choir. And, of course, there'll be plenty of opportunity for you, the audience, to sing along with your favourite carols, plus drinks and mince pies from the bar - so do come and join in the fun! Watch this space, as booking will open shortly via our website.
The previous evening, Saturday 18th December, we shall be participating in Hastings Philharmonic Orchestra's Christmas Gala concert at Christ Church, St Leonards. More information about this event ca be found on the orchestra's website.

We have some choral treats in store for you in 2022!
The main work in our spring concert on Saturday 26th March 2022 will be Brahms' imposing yet consolatory Ein Deutsches Requiem (German Requiem).
In the summer, on Saturday 16th July 2022, we will perform Haydn's much-loved oratorio The Creation, a work full of joyful vitality.
More details on both of these concerts will be available on our website in the new year.

The cost of presenting large-scale choral concerts with an orchestra and professional soloists is very high. Whilst our members' subscriptions cover our rehearsal costs, we rely on you - our friends, our audience, donors and various fundraising initiatives to finance our performances. Ticket sales alone cannot fully cover our concert expenses, and the past eighteen months of covid restrictions have severely limited our fundraising efforts.
To help us to present the high quality performances that you expect and love, please consider making a donation to the choir. Even a small amount can make a big difference!
See our website's donations page for more information.
